8 March, 2008. International Women's Day observed in remote area of Bangladesh. A grand Rally in a remote village road of Bhomra union, Satkhira district. SoDESH arranged the rally by the support of ActionAid Bangladesh. After the rally a street meeting was also done at Rishilpi Feeder School, where SoDESH officials and villager deliver their lecture on the justification of International Women's Day.

No one but the victim can tell how much pain a person with acid burns goes through for the rest of their life. A person throws acid on another person only when there is an extreme lack of morals among people. We don't want another acid attack to happen anywhere in the country including Satkhira. Those who have been affected so far should be brought back to the mainstream of society with all kinds of financial, social, and human support. Government and private initiatives should be taken to make them financially independent in society. Every acid-stricken man, woman, and child is now standing around. They are trying to increase their capacity. However, these activities will be possible only then. If they can be more socially supported.
